The artwork “A Flock of Little Egrets” by the Korean photographer Young Han Song shows a scene that we rarely see here in Germany and Europe. This photograph shows a large group of little egrets catching small fish and insects in a body of water. We don't know exactly where this work of art was created. Perhaps the body of water is a shallow river or a shallow spot in a lake. The reflections of the herons in the water make it seem as if there are more of these majestic animals fishing there. This work of art is a great snapshot of a motif that Asian artists have captured in their art for centuries. As common as one can see such a situation in Korea and Asia, it is rare in our latitudes.
